The Firm

Hackett Griffey LLP is an established firm of Chartered Certified Accountants and Registered Auditors based in Haverhill, Suffolk. The firm was founded in 1984, although its roots can be traced back to the 1960s. The partners are Philip Hackett LLP and Jon Griffey FCCA CTA.

We are registered as auditors and regulated for a range of investment business activities by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and are one of very few firms to be awarded the ACCA Quality Checked Seal for audit and professional services. This was awarded to us in November 2004 following a rigorous examination of our firm by ACCA.

We are an ACCA Gold approved training practice in recognition of the support we provide for the training and development of ACCA professional scheme students and members.

The People

Jon Griffey

Jon Griffey qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1991, achieving second place out of 6,000 candidates sitting their finals worldwide. In 1993 he passed the notoriously difficult Chartered Institute of Taxation examinations at first attempt. This prestigious body includes most of the UK's leading tax experts amongst its members. Before going into practice Jon worked within a number of small to medium-sized accountancy firms, gaining considerable experience of a wide range of clients. These include small traders, non-profit making organisations, friendly societies, professional partnerships, IT contractors, hi-tech industries, groups with up to £50m turnover, plus many others.

Philip Hackett

Philip Hackett has managed our Haverhill office since 1984. He deals with clients in a wide range of businesses including manufacturing companies, and handles most of our clients in the retail and construction industries.
